The very best snickerdoodle recipe ever written.

I wasn’t kidding about my Grams’ snickerdoodle recipe. Time and time again I make these for my friends who doubt their magical-ness, only to eat their words at the very first bite. It seems criminal to keep these to myself, 10/10 recommend you give them a try.

Grams’ Snickerdoodles

Mix together thoroughly: 1 cup butter, 1 1/3 cups sugar, and 2 eggs

Sift together and then stir in: 2 1/2 cups sifted flour, 2 teaspoons cream of tartar, 1 teaspoon baking soda, pinch of salt

Chill dough for about 2 hours. Roll into small balls (about 1 inch) then roll in a mixture of cinnamon and sugar (go heavy on the cinnamon). Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 for 8 -10 minutes, until lightly browned but still soft. Cookies puff up at first, then flatten.

Bonus tip: Cool your cookies on a brown paper bag. It will absorb the excess oils and make the cookies crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
